Opportunity for aspiring young entrepreneurs

Inspiring Enterprise group

Angus Centre for Enterprise is on the hunt for budding young entrepreneurs who would like to develop their business skills through the exciting “Inspiring Enterprise” course. The course, which starts in February 2012, is run in partnership with Young Enterprise Scotland and is open to anyone aged between 16 and 24.

The programme covers business and self-employment skills including how to formulate a Business Plan. The course also includes an 8 week internship phase which provides candidates with valuable real-world business experience with a local business.

The students starting in February will be the second cohort to undertake the Inspiring Enterprise programme following in the footsteps of the September group who are about to start their placement phase. The students currently on the course will be interning at a variety of local businesses including Arbroath based Muddy Paws Dog Walking Services, LuLu’s Shoes in Broughty Ferry and the Carnoustie Golf Hotel.

Course leader Mark Straiton said “The students currently on the course are a really great group. Not only have they developed a real understanding of business but have also developed personal abilities including self-confidence and communication skills. I would urge anyone with an interest in business who is looking to develop their ambitions to apply for the new cohort of this course, It really is a fantastic opportunity.”
